Description: Just like Saint Paul, Vence is a major centre for modern art. Matisse left his prints there after the second world war as he erected, decorated and donated a chapel to thank the nuns that nursed him. The old town is fortified and embellished by middle-age architecture, little squares, water fountains, a cathedral etc.
