Description: Draguignan has a rich identity as the department's 2nd largest administrative town (after Toulon), with a population of 40,015. It is also the "capital of Artillery" thanks to its links with the military schools, home to the Artillery Museum and the American military cemetery Memorial du Rhône. A former prefecture, it has evolved into a tourist and culturally dynamic town while preserving its historic heritage. Its shady avenues encircle the old town, where every porch, house and square tells a story, notably Place aux Herbes and Place du Cros.
