My personal tip
If you love anything to do with art, Biot is the ideal place for you. The National Fernand Léger Museum which has recently been renovated, not only has exhibitions but also courses and lectures to familiarize the public to 20th century contemporary art. The Museum of Local History in Biot will also give you a greater understanding of the history of this quaint town. The village of Biot contains many renowned glassmakers, painters, potters, ceramists, jewellers…Biot is truly a village which attracts and inspires creative individuals!
On a more serious note…
In France, one must pay 2 property taxes. Both "Taxes foncière" and "Taxes d'habitation" can be paid via the Internet (only from the French bank account) within a given date (last quarter). Note to pay the taxes on time. Delays lead to penalty charges. Moreover, it is very important to ensure that your account in the local French bank never has a negative balance. French banking is very strict, and a negative balance can result in unpleasant exclusions.
